Preparing for your visit

A little preparation makes a real difference to how your treatment heals. Here's everything I'd want you to know before you come in. If you're ever unsure, just ask me.

Before any treatment

In the week before

  • Avoid active skincare (AHAs, BHAs, retinols and acids) for a week beforehand
  • Stop any topical creams or steroids one to two weeks before
  • Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and sunburn for one to two weeks before
  • Skip caffeine on the day, and no alcohol for 24 hours before
  • Come with no makeup on the area, especially tinted moisturiser or fake tan
Brows

If you're having brows done

  • Please don't pre-shape your brows. I'll shape them for you on the day with a pluck
  • If you've had Botox or filler, leave two weeks either side of your treatment
  • If you've had semi-permanent brows elsewhere, the old ink needs to have faded by 90% before I can work over it
Lips

If you're having lip blush

  • Keep your lips well moisturised with a lip gloss beforehand, so the ink goes in better
  • Leave two weeks after filler, four weeks before filler
  • If you're prone to cold sores, speak to your GP or pharmacist about antivirals before your appointment
  • No recent sunbed use
Lashes & skin

Lash lifts & Hydrofacials

  • Lash treatments need a patch test 24–48 hours before
  • Come with no mascara, and wear glasses rather than contact lenses
  • For a Hydrofacial, avoid retinol or strong acids for five days beforehand
Suitability

When semi-permanent makeup isn't right for you

I'd much rather be honest with you now than turn you away on the day. If any of these apply to you, send me a message and we'll talk it through.

Health

Autoimmune conditions on immunosuppressants · unmanaged type 1 diabetes or poor healing · cancer within the last five years, or a doctor's sign-off if you're currently a patient · keloid scarring · blood thinners, unless your practitioner confirms in writing that you can pause them

Skin

Active eczema, psoriasis or rosacea in the area · recent sunburn or peeling (leave two weeks either side) · Accutane or Roaccutane within the last six months · topical steroids or retinol, which need stopping one to two weeks before

Other

Pregnant or breastfeeding · under 18 · Botox or filler within two weeks either side · severe lip pigmentation, which needs neutralising first · I don't offer brow removal, and I can't work over ink that hasn't faded by 90%

The Rules

Booking, cancelling & running late

It's just me in the studio, so a slot that empties at short notice is one I can't fill. These are here so we both know where we stand.

Cancelling

I ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or amend an appointment. If you don't let me know within that window your deposit is lost, because at short notice I'm unable to refill the slot.

Cancelling on the day

If you cancel on the day, or don't arrive, I still need payment for the appointment: the full price for lash, brow and skin treatments, and 50% of the price for semi-permanent makeup, with your deposit counting towards it. It's time I've set aside out of my day and can't use again.

Rescheduling

The same 48 hours applies. Just message me and I'll find you the next date I have.

Running late

There's a 15-minute grace period. Any later than that and it affects my whole day and my next client, so if I can't adjust the schedule it may mean losing your deposit and your slot, and booking again for another day.

Paying

I take cash, bank transfer or card, and Klarna is available at checkout. Cash is easiest for me, but whichever suits you is fine.

Refunds

All treatments are non-refundable. If there's ever an issue, please tell me, ideally at your top-up 6–8 weeks later, and I'll always look at how we can put it right.

If you're unwell

Please let me know as early as you can.

Guests & walk-ins

Please check with me before bringing anyone along to your appointment, as the studio is small and private. I don't take walk-ins, and treatments are for over-18s only.
